O8

$4 -->$10.98

14 hands

6/14 flops (3/11 non-blind)

Yes, back on the O8 horse! As if to remind me what I’m getting into, here is the hand that happened while waiting for the button to pass me. “Sixthed” for the low? Ouch.

(QcJcQs5s) I finally knew where I stood after the turn at O8! I’m so used to betting pot and getting called it didn’t even occur to me to slow play or value bet the quads. With no low possible and the adamantium nuts, I should have checked here. But seriously…betting, and getting a fold in O8? Weird.

That’s what I’m talking about.

I’m breaking my “quit right away post O8 double up” rule. Dangerous, but I am going to be super disciplined. Only playing the AA, KK, QQ, JJ and AK of O8 for a raise. (Anyone know what those are?)

(A35Tdddd) OK, not quite the AA of O8, but I have to see a flop with Axx to the wheel. I played it with extreme caution, even with the nut low draw on the flop. I probably played it too cautiously by opto, standards, but I played it correctly by “getting to my blinds with a healthy profit” standards.

I’m folding preflop left and right, it’s amazing! Nice session. OK, back to hold’em.

God a pussy fold to a min bet with QTo, here. It just seemed like the hitting the turn would only get me in trouble. I miss O8.

I aggroed my way through this hand with Qs9s, and it paid off image-wise when I picked up KK on the next hand and met resistance. I screwed up the hand grab, but I got a reraise from the button who called my 4 bet, called my pot-size flop bet, then folded to my all-in on the turn.

Villain has T9. When he calls my transparent “I have a flush” turn raise, I feared the bigger flush and checked the river, but I really should have figured he would have put me in on the turn with a bigger flush, and I missed a value bet, there. I flat called a pot-sized bet on the flop with predominantly a flush draw, but I had the pair I figured was good for five more outs if I was behind.

I dunno. JJ sucks at any stakes I guess, but I will continue to play it just like that at .02/.04.

Done.
