(99) A slightly different way to play my nemesis hand: a light raise to weed out the riffraff, get a few callers without over committing, and build a decent pot for the right flop. Like this one. When the hands are turned up, I notice my good decision and mentally prepare for a heart. I hold up, and Villain gets a note for his cr-semibluff.

(J8c) OK, so I play pretty tight the hand after taking down a big all in, to the point where, in a show of extreme nittiness, I lay down the club spainR of out of position. I was appropriately punished for that transgression. I definitely played it wrong.

(T8o) These are the trickiest hands to play at any stake level. Is that turn good for me? Limped multiway, and J6 and 96 just got there. On the river, a random deuce just got there.

(77) Here’s me giving credit to the pf rr. Sliding back, here, I peaked this session at $8 and change, and several swings and misses have taken me down a notch.

(AKo) without serious notes, I’m gonna pay this off at these tables. That’s why I’ll set mine so much myself.

(A6c) Check out the bluff call from the villain, who had K2. Simon? Is that you?

(AQd) Not the safest of rivers, but at least it wasn’t a heart. “The average winning hand in hold’em is two pair,” was going through my head as I bet the river…

(AQo) Called a pf pb, went to the mat on an A-high flop against the original raiser who showed AK. Another one I’m just going to pay off at this level.

Turn the nut flush, v-bet the river for a $1.40 pot

(22) Speaking of the v-bet…

Table shrunk up. Happy to finish with sugar despite a couple of big pots lost.

O8

Oh, ouch. I had him so crushed.

(AKJ9dd) I don’t hate my flop bet with top two. Found out where I stood…

I think Omaha should just be called "Cake Wins."

Nuts + redraw = Omaha dream, but it would have been a nightmare, I hoped I was freerolling on villain, but he was freerolling on me…

Yay! O8 payday.

Brief session while messing with family photos

Floped a straight with a flush draw on a big blind special and a short stack shoved on me, and that was pretty much it.

Wrapping presents and playing some poker. Mostly folding hands and wrapping presents.

(77) The good new is, I flop a set…a tough hand to play at these stakes. With that many limpers, two hearts could be out there, but if they are, they are slowplaying them and giving me a chance to pair the board. That happens, and I v-bet the river by betting $1.39 into my opponent’s remaining $1.40. He calls with 64hh, having failed to protect his baby flush properly.

(J8c) Just like yesterday, right after a big all-in win, I pick up the club spainR on the next hand. This time, I don’t misplay it.

(A7o) I feared the boat, but my book on this player says I had to call.

(JTo) No action on the nuts.

(T7o) Again, I steel myself for QT from the villain, but this is the same villain as before, so I call.

(AA) Very next hand. I overbet the river figuring that either he has a decent club and will call almost anything, or he doesn’t and will fold to almost anything. I wonder if he would have called a shove…

(AKo) Merry Christmas! Your AKs will hit, and won’t get sucked out on!

(AQs) AQ still sucks, though.

Thanks Santa!

Oh, and I totally agree with the Caker sentiment that the "10% cashout" rule doesn't apply if you are the big stack. At that point, it should be cash out if another player has 10% of your roll in play.

Nice -- glad to see the slow-down/break that you took is paying off.

Good to see you back in action. Nice play too, I like the overbet with the AA on the flush board.

I generally multi table which has the downside of me hitting half pot, pot or check for most all of my bets. I almost forget that there is finesse in this game too.

Looks like you are playing mostly hold'm. Have you kept track of your hold'm winnings vs Omaha 8 winnings?

Once you build up your stack, you will be happy to know that the play is not much better in Omaha 8 at .10/.20, maybe even worse at .25/.50. At .50/$1, where I have ventured only once, play appeared to be quite good.
