(KQ) An embarrassingly bad call very early on that I was almost too ashamed about to share with the class. I am, though, because it produced interesting ripples. I probably made my money back based on how Jalpa played me after (calling my raises light and not betting on rivers when he could have bluffed me). Is there merit to being a donkey early? Maybe you shouldn’t do it on purpose, but if you fuck up early like this, remember that there’s no such thing as a bad image.

(AQo) I made a bad call against the villain earlier. When it folded around to him, he thought for a while, and I knew he had marginal holdings but wanted to get a donkey like me heads up. I could have slow played the flop a little, maybe just called his min bet, but That wasn’t the hand for it.
(8c6c) When is a combo draw not really a combo draw? When it looks like this. Yeah, way too scary to continue with that flop action.
(AKs) What was kicking aces on that he would call my flop bet but fold to $1.30 on the turn? QJ? I really thought he was going to call.
(99) mathpro had made massive preflop overbets in three of the last four hands, including coming over the top of my pot-size raise with AJo on the previous hand. I let it go, even though mathpro was beginning to build a Drunk Steve-like reputation.
Given the previous h and, I initially decided to play 99 like a worse pocket pair because I doubted another raise would get much respect from the table. When mathpro raises big yet again and gets two callers, though, I know I rate to have the best hand, and start treating 99 like KK. mathpro pushes, and I have to call and chalk it up to bad timing if he’s crushing me with an overpair. It turns out to be much better than expected; he has to hit twice to beat me, and doesn’t.
(88) Villain chickened out on the river bet, which I probably would have folded to. Same guy I called down weak early on, which actually probably kept him from betting there.
It’s interesting…at the beginning of the challenge, I had to cash out as soon as I doubled up based on the 10% rule. Now, I don’t have to cash out until I hit $12.50 or more. It’s nice to have the room to play as a big stack at the table for a bit before
(AsQc) I was blinded by all my turn “outs” at first, but then I figured my only outs were 7 to the flush, and let it go. Correct!
(KK) Sure didn’t feel good about my chances by the flop, much less the river, but I was good…
(76s) Easy fold for me on that flop. What was Jalpa thinking?
Weird hand. Would have folded to any real bet on the river. Sometimes I’ll c-bet that flop, but not a ton at this level.
(KT) Well, if I wasn’t willing to go to battle on a Jh turn, I guess I called the flop bet on a three-outer. Implied odds? I’m not saying I should have called the turn, I’m saying I never should have seen it.
Bad read, had him weak after the turn check and tried to steal on the river. Called the flop because he seemed to be c-betting a lot.
