NLHE: The Saturday-Night Snap-Off

(AQo) Weirdly-played AJ by villain, but I called his pf reraise knowing I would go to the felt on an ace-rag board. He had just posted, and I can't to fold to the "average" .05/.10 player in that spot.

(AQo) Weirdly-played AJ by villain, but I called his pf reraise knowing I would go to the felt on a queen-rag board. I'd seen him press hard with weak hands, so I couldn't fold to him in that spot.

(KTh) Here's why these hands suck, especially out of position. You flop top pair, and then what? Here, I check-call badly, finally giving up on the turn. The villain was the pf aggressor, and I should give him credit for the overpair to that first bet.

(KJo) Mick is the villain from the first hand, and he's been crazy in between. V-betting all the way, here. Yes, a pot bet is a v-bet against this villain...

(A3o) The story just didn't make sense, so I called the river. Yup. He was LYING. It could have been an A6/A7/A8-type hand, but was just too odd. I thought it more likely that an A-rag hand would have checked behind there.

Wow, lots of big bluffers out tonight. It must be a Saturday-night drunkfest thing.

(AA) Same villain donates to the cause by shoving with ATo in front of my BB aces.

Power went out! Yikes, glad I wasn't in a big hand.

$10 --> $31.09

Your KTh hand — I find myself in this position and have the same question. Then what? I remember you guys talking about this a few months ago: if you’re not the aggressor, it’s usually not worth it to be in the hand. Interesting to me to see the same things happening at $.05/$.10 as I see at $.02/$.04.

I was seeing the same type of play at the lower level, too, but just couldn’t find the right hand to connect with. I so wanted to get this one drunk player’s money, but I just couldn’t make it work. Had to quit before I fell asleep at the computer.
