PLO - 6 Handed

1. When is an overpair good? Here, I guess. And again here with KKJ4ss.

2. My instinct was to be extremely cautious about this guy betting into me when I only have the third nuts. I abandon my "just call him down" plan and raise, presumably for information, but when he minraises me, I can't find it in me to get away from it until he shoves the river. Too bad I didn't stick to plan, but nice of him to show me I was correct.

3. I flop top set (AKA the nuts) and get raised all in by a small stack. I turn the boat and stop fearing the heart draw.

4. I try checking the nut flush on the river, but nobody has two hearts. Not sure of the play in general, but feels like you will get a bet from two random hearts there if someone has them, and if they don't they aren't calling anyway.

$5 --> $6.13
43 Hands

Wow, hands do fly when you are 3-4 handed.

Tacking on another session...I win a few small ones, then take this big one by backing into a flush I feel is likely good. There were a lot of things I could back into on that hand.

I trade blows heads up for a bit until my opponent bails.

$5 --> $12.10
24 Hands

$316.68

I know it's less of a milestone, but congrats on getting above $300 and staying above it for more than one session!

Nice play Ryan, playing on Wednesday during the day. You're my hero goofing off on a supposed working day.

Good play in general. Your overpair is definitely worth sticking with on the turn. You are 4 handed and there is a low draw out there that could be attempting to bet you off, which villain did.

I don't like the check on the river with the nut flush. At these stakes there is not much bluffing, just semi bluffing. Bet something and top pair may pay you off as will most any other flush. At higher stakes I am OK with the play as folks may bluff with air.

Did you get my email? When might you be available to chat with.

Thanks...two points of correction...

* These hands took place last night after I got home from WNP, so no work-dodging took place.

* It was all PLO, not PLO8, so no low draw was trying to bet me off anything, which in a sense made villain pressure all the more nerve-wracking.

I got your email...I'm on a five-minute window before I am basically going to be occupied until 10:30 or so, so it will have to be another night. Maybe tomorrow, but evenings are crazy for me until everyone else around here is in bed...
